Cairns is a destination that many travellers only plan a couple of days for, however soon realise why it is the 2nd most popular destination in Australia (Sydney being the first).  The city of Cairns itself can be explored in 1 or 2 days however Cairns should be viewed as a hub to travel from.

With nearly every adventure known to man existing in Cairns this is the place to get your adrenalin pumping!  Those who have been here believe that you need atleast 7 days in the region to fully experience the Rainforest, Reef and Tablelands...

Cairns is also an ideal place to just chill out in...with a huge lagoon style pool (with free bbq's) many travellers have spent many lazy days sunbaking on large grassy areas surrounding the  pool and chatting to other travellers...

By far the most famous place to party is the Woolshed! Yes...that place where you can dance on tables until the early hours of the morning.  For the non-budget concious traveller there are loads of bars/restuarants to sample all an easy work within the city. Shields St is where all the local eat so take a quick 3 minute walk and explore it. less
