What an awesome place!Fraser Island truly is an unspoiled beauty with long white beaches and the most amazing freshwater lakes, this is one the top destinations in Australia.
Spending a week on Fraser exploring is what so many travellers do (and mostly in 11 seater 4WDs). 4WDs give you the freedom to explore the island at your own pace. The only advice i can give travellers is to make sure you...

Spending a week on Fraser exploring is what so many travellers do (and mostly in 11 seater 4WDs). 4WDs give you the freedom to explore the island at your own pace. The only advice i can give travellers is to make sure you take everything you need with you, the local shop can be a little pricey.
Also please remember to take your rubbish with you and obey the signs. The dingos are sneaky and
WILL take your food. Keep it locked up in your car.
Like all the signs say. Take only memories and leave only footprints.
Well what an adventure. 3 days and 2 nights on the island with 9 strangers has never been such fun. After a night at the Palace at Hervey Bay ( $25), being shown all the kit and heading out in our 4x4 to catch the ferry to Fraser Island our trip began. Driving slowly along the bumpy inland roads to putting your foot down a bit on the long stretch of beach it's an experience of it's own. Be warned that if you do self drive you don't have showering facilities but that all adds to the experience of having sand everywhere for a couple of days. Setting up camp is easy with the equipment they provide. All you need to worry about is how much beer (? depends on you) and food ($15 each) you'll need to survive. Sitting around camp, cooking on the BBQ, you'll be sure to see some nosy dingos scrounging around your camp looking for left overs so be sure to put your rubbish in the truck before bed time!
All in all best trip yet in Australia. All for a bargain of $400 which also included 2 days and 2 nights at Whitsundays which I don in 2 weeks so will fill you in on that adventure next!
