Some people say Kakadu (do) and some people say Kakadont...But we definitely say KakaDOOO.  What an amazing cultural experience.  You have to make sure you are well stocked to go here as there are no supermarkets, but you can get a few supplies in the heart of Kakadu at a town called Jabiru.  We first stopped at Ubirri which is a must f you are visisting Kakadu.  We went there for the ranger talks - they are really great, well worth waiting for.  Then we following the ranger and his talks and went up to Look out over Kakadu on sunset.  THIS IS A MUST.  We choose to stay in the national parks while in Kakadu.  At a cost of $5.40 per adult per night it is a bargin.  There are also hot & cold showers and water available.  Gunlom is also another must.  This is down the bottom of Kakadu and has a fairly rough corrugated road in but well worth the drive. We hiked up to the top of the falls and sat in the rock pool which over looks the southern end of Kakadu on sunset.  Another must!!!  We also emersed ourselves in the free cultural activities - these run seasonal so check your dates.  Make sure you get to Kakadu you will NEVER forget it..... less
