A trip that is worth doing is the ride up the Petronas Twin towers to walk along the sky bridge.  The Petronas Twin Towers are currently the worlds tallest freestanding towers.  The 88 stories soar to a dizzying height of 452m above the city skyline.  The towers gleam with delight during both day and night and was inspired by the Five Pillars of Islam and is the centerpiece of the ultra modern Kuala Lumpur City Centre.  

You get a great view of the city from the 42nd floor I would be petrified to look out a window if it was my office on the 88th floor.  For a person who is afraid of heights it was ok!

Petronas Towers gives out free tickets so it means a couple of trips to the towers.  It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the towers from Bintang Walk which gives you an opportunity to identify somewhere to eat that evening.  Head out of the Federal Hotel and turn right, when you get to the main intersection turn left and keep walking.  When you get to a T intersection and can not walk straight ahead any more turn right and follow the road to the end, you will see the towers.

You line up to get your free tickets.  They run many tours to the sky bridge each day but in limited numbers.  The earlier you get to the towers to get your tickets the earlier in the day you can go up to the sky bridge.  We arrived around midday and were able to get tickets for the 5.00pm tour which suited us.

The towers are well worth a visit if you are in Kuala Lumpur. less
