Istanbul To Cairo

Start slideshow
Goreme:  These are the photos from Goreme Turkey in the Cappadocia region. These beautiful rock formations are in effect caused by time...and are the influence of both wind and water working their magic. The cliff walls are riddled with centry old dwellings and chaples where some people still live to this day! I went on the tour of some famous formations, experienced the debauchery of "turkish night" (much food, drink, and dancing!), got my first pottery throwing lesson as well as my first scooter riding lesson and visited the beautiful open air museum.

Jordan:  I really loved this country..there are beautiful stark mountains, golden sands, oodles historic and religious sites as well as many kind people who where always encouraging me to sit down and share some tea (which I always did, of course). Hell, one Bedouin man even told me that he thinks my great grandfather was saudi arabian...who knows!!

Petra is completely amazing and if you are interested, there are some great web sites out there that have reconstructions of the city: http://nabataea.net/rcourts.html and http://www.sas.upenn.edu/~lbedal/chrys.html are a couple good ones!
