Around The World Through Seoul

Start slideshow
After an emergency trip back to NZ for family reasons. I carried onto Sydney for 2 days then Seoul in South Korea for a day.  So in 12 days I spent 52 hours on a plane, and on top of that at least another 20hrs in some type of airport. I literally went around the world.

Seoul is a very smoggy place, I suppose you get that for a city of 11 million people.  I stayed at this hostel in the city down an alleyway that looks quite dogey when you first see it, but it was harmless.  It was the typical take your shoes off, bow to great people place.
Since I had hardly any time I paid for a day trip tour where we saw some palaces and markets.  It was funny and frustrating at times trying to communicate with the people there as I had no grasp of the Korea language at all (I couldnt even say hello or thanks).  I was bowing alot to say thanks, it was funny.
When I was in the markets instead of buying things I was trying all the market food, its actually quite a wonder that I didnt end up catching anything with the amount of food I ate.
They had all these amazing fish cakes, and rice things with beans yum!
One shopping mall that I went to the girls out there would of loved it was 7 stories open 23hrs a day and was kinda like street markets crossed with normal retail stores and it was all contemporary clothing.

Seoul was an ok place I wish I had 1 more day there and that prob would of been enough, I heard from a few places that it just doesnt compare to China for tourism.
