well we arrived in Bangkok after a 40 minute flight from Cambodia, the other option was a 14 hour bus ride, which in fact only covered a distance of 200Km as the roads were so bad!!
we spent our first night on Ko san road and then moved in to our friend colins apartment where we spent 3 nights.It was right next to Siam square and he had a lovely pool etc on the 33rd floor.....it was bliss!!! not to mention we got to do our washing...with the luxury of softener!!! so we spent our days sight seeing, well more relaxing at the pool!! and nights visiting Colins locals!!
we spent what was meant to be our last night out with colin but we were all hammered especially colin who managed to fall asleep in the restaurant we were in at 4am then decided the floor was more comfy! when we did eventually get him into a taxi home it took his doorman at the apartments to wake him up by repeatedly punching him in the leg!! we got the impression this was not the first time!! due to this late night we missed our bus so it was back on the town for us where we headed to patpong for another boozy night where ali enjoyed his first jack daniels of the trip even though it was a bottle of it he bought from the bar!!!!

we sent of at tea time from bangkok on the overnight bus to Surat thani then caught the ferry over to Ko Phangan where we spent the next 7 days...it was bliss. We managed to get a little bungalow with a sea view and a hammock on our porch!! ( not to mention the daily visit of 2 little pups that would jump in the hammock when you were having a snooze!!)
so we spent the days lying on the beach and relaxing...we were going to go diving but the days we planned the waves were too high. we hired a moped one day and explored the island but it was all on hills so we both had a very numb bum by the end of it!! We actually met up with the couple we met in Cambodia (new Auzzie mates!!) , colin and a few others, so there was few of us to head out at night time.
one of the nights we headed round to our friends bungalow to watch the sunset with a few beers. A few hours had passed and Ali had found a new long lost best friend, a stray scabby dog!! he was hammered and spent the next 2 hours rolling round the grass with his new buddy!! before asking to be taken home!! he decided the next day that it was down to the anti biotics he has been taken for his sore toe!!mmmmmmm

we had to say bye bue to ko Phan gan and caught the ferry back to Surat Thani and then the bus to Krabi where we spent the night. The next day we traveled through to Ao Nang (almost like a mini Puket) where we have spent the last few nights and are going to use it for a base to visit a few places near by! yesterday we did a day trip to Hong Island...
and what a strange trip it was!!! great weather.....great scenery.....but best of all it was a ladyboy that was our tour guide!!!!!! different to say the least!!!!!!!!!
we just relaxed the rest of our time in ao nang and watched all the pirate dvds at night then our last night we decided to have a big night out only to find out no alcohol was allowed to be served that day due to government elections!!!! oh well another night of dvds it is then!
after a tip from our mate jeff we decided our next destination was a remote island called koh Jum!!! so we got the ferry to koh jum on the 15th and had no idea what to expect.........
our ferry was greated out at sea by a longtail boat that we had to jump onto with all our gear in the pouring rain!!!! luckily though it was the only time it rained and we had a great 3 nights on the island.........there was very little to do except sunbathe and recharge the batteries!
the island has hardly been touched by westerners so was a nice change.......there was no air con, no tvs and only electricity at certain times of the day!!!! it felt as if we went back in time but it was a great little island!!!!!!

it was back to the real world and a ferry across to koh lanta.
this was meant to be some more chill out time for the 2 of us before the madness of xmas and new year but it didnt quite work out like that!
our first night on the island we came off the beach and decided to have a sunset cocktail in one of the little beachside bars........well one cocktail turned into sampling most of the cocktail menu, getting to know the bar owner and a few of the locals (jean and devon), then while still in our beach gear ending up in a nightclub till the middle of the night!!!!!!!
after getting over our thumping heads we hired a moped for the rest of our time on koh lanta to go exploring. there were loads of other nice beaches dotted all over the island and we found some tasty little restaurants aswell!!!!!!
we did show our faces back to the little beach bar(koala bar) a few days later to be greated with a round of applause at finally showing up again........well guess what happened next????? yip it turned into another messy night with a very similar ending!!!!!!!!!
our 5 nights on koh lanta flew past and we had a great time there but our xmas on phi phi island loomed and it was off on the ferry to sample another one of thailands little island!!!!!!!
