Liby Edwards & Nick Alexander's travel recommendations

Florence, Italy recommendation
We stayed in the most amazing little hostel called Locanda Daniel which is on hostelworld.com in Florence, Italy. It was extremely well priced and overlooked the cathedral. The location was amazing about 200 metres from the central station.  The rooms were excellent and seemed to be quite sound proofed from outside.  Really quaint little family run hostel.  Would definitely recommend it to anyone who asks. It was also just around the corner from a brilliant lit...
Florence, Italy recommendation
We stayed in this amazing little hostel in Florence which is the best location, quite small so you don't have to share with other people and there are no bunks just single beds. It is called Locanda David and is on the 3rd floor of a building on 22 via Nazionale which is just off from the main station and the balcony that is used by everyone overlooks the Duomo and the whole of Florence. It is a great place for reading books overlooking Florence when the ques for galleries get too much. &...
Amsterdam, Netherlands recommendation
We stayed at Hotel Annemarie for a week and had a lovely time.  I did a free walking tour which is a pamphlet that you get in most of the hostels.  It was a NewEurope walking tour with Shaun that went for 3 hours and it was possibly the best walking tour I have ever done and I have done quite a lot.  And it was free!!!!  ...
International Friends > Paris by Coach recommendation
We went on a brilliant little weekend tour from London with International Friends (which was a free tour when we booked our Morocco Tour through Travel Talk).  It was really brilliantly organised and saw just the right amount of sites.   I would really recommend their tour for a weekend break from London as it was very affordable and there was just the right amount of free time, the accommodation was great (the All Seasons Hotel) and was in a great location....
Alston, England recommendation
I recommend hiring a house for New Year's somewhere remote.  We hired a cottage in Alston for 8 friends and had the most amazing week away from the rat race.  We did a fair bit of site seeing around the tiny town and was lucky enough to get some snow.  It was very affordable but we had to book a year in advance.  It was 79 pounds a person for the week!! Lots of walking around and it was very close to Hadrian's wall and lots of other sites. www.cottagesd...
