Finally made it to the camel races. Went with Doug, Jae, their daughter Taya and Jae's friends Mary ann and Roz.

We arrived at the track and saw cars driving towards us so decided to do a U turn and follow them. Unsure where to go next, we pulled over to the side of the road which was just as well because all of a sudden there were all these cars drivng all over the road!

We soon found out that as soon as the camels take off so do the men in the cars. It looks like a demolition derby.

Anyway we cautiously made our way to the starting line and spent some time there before going to the finishing line.

At the starting line the handlers hold the camel's lead until the starter's signal then...  just run for their lives!!!

Down at the finsihing line the photographer arranged for us to go in the media van. This is only for the brave or fool hardy.

What an experience
