Being a geek sometimes has it's advantages, and a work-paid trip to Singapore to collect an award for being awesome at work is one of those! We headed to Singapore for 5 nights put up in a lovely hotel by the company. Packed quite a bit in - Jurong Bird Park, Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, Shopping down Orchard Road, Mandarin Chicken at Chatterbox, Orchid garden in a terrential downpour, Singapore Flyer, bus tour of the city including the variety of ethnic and religious mixes living together. We also went on an amphibeous tour of city and river and experienced some of the local cuisine - chilli crab and white pepper crab. Weren't such fans of the fried baby squid! Climate was hot and humid with sun mostly and a thunderstorm in the afternoons most days. Streets were clean and the taxis were cheap and an efficient way to hoon around the place.
