Spicy Laos Backpackers, Luang Prabang
A great hostel! Best thing about Spicy's was the common spaces, and this hostel seemed to attract really like minded, friendly travellers.
Free internet until midnight which was great AND a pretty reliable WiFi connection.
Location is good - it's a couple minutes walk from center but that makes it quiet and closer to the 'real' Luang Prabang.
The free breakfast was basic (fresh baguette, jam, bananas, tea & coffee) but very much appreciated! And a...

Utopia, Luang Prabang
I saw some flyers for this place and was intrigued by the expectation set by calling it 'Utopia.' It really does it's name justice by being one of the most unique places in all of Luang Prabang to hang out in. The grounds of the place are beautifully landscaped in a jungle atmosphere and the 'piece de resistance' of being in Utopia is the large deck, 25 meters above the Nam Ou River, complete with cushions and nice beds to lie and drink and eat and watch the day go by.......

Seven Days In Tibet ~
Great tour, breathtaking scenery, amazing people.....a magical experience!
If Tibet is on your list of places to go and you plan on making it happen some time soon then I suggest you really do do your homework before you leave home....

Ephesus, Turkey recommendation
This recommendation is not so much about a particular place or tour but a general travelling tip that has proved invaluable to me.
I don't know about you, but more often than not I really hate being a standout tourist in a foreign country!
The majority of us travellers all carry a version of a 'Travel Bible' with us I'm sure..... whether it be a Lonely Planet, Rough Guide or Let's Go. And we stand out like a sore thumb!
Here's a tip for you that has really worked for me. Grab a local newsp...
Paros, Greece recommendation
My pick of all the Greek Islands I visited was Paros Island. I ended up here quite by accident as it was a compulsory stopover enroute to my next destination, Samos Island which is a hop, skip and jump away from Turkey!
If you fancy an island that is small, doesn't have hoard loads of tourists and is relatively inexpensive in comparison then go to Paros Island in the Cyclades for sure!
We stayed in Krios Beach Camping Ground which is 2km out of town. Don't let that put you off though....distan...
