Cool Thing to Do:
Alcatraz Tour is worthwhile and you MUST book these prior to arrival in San Fran, in the peak times - book a good month out. We went in April and booked a week in advance and had we not, we would not of got on a tour. We used www.alcatrazcruises.com and did the 9am early bird tour which was good as not so busy. Also, we went with a pram and baby and did not have any difficulty as elevators in main building.

Contiki > European Discovery recommendation

I did the 12 night European Contiki tour that has accomodation in the hotels. I would recommend this standard of accomodation for couples or anyone who can afford the bit extra as from what I heard its a lot better than the cabins and camping!
