Istanbul then back to London!May 16, 2007
After 12 hours on the bus overnight from Cappadoccia we arrived back in Istanbul for a final day and one last night! Went to the Topkapi Palace Museum and saw the seventh largest diamond in the world and the Topkapi dagger, with three of the largest emeralds I've ever seen on it. After a Fantastic time in Kusadasi, Koycegiz and Saklikent Gorge we headed to Fethiye where we had our first Hamam (Turkish Bath) where they scrubbed us and soaped us and massaged us until we were squeaky clean! Turkey turned out to be such a diverse and amazing place. I had no idea it was so physically beautiful and jammed packed full of history! We spent a week in Istanbul staying in Sultanamhet. We arrived in London a little worse for wear after having a little too much fun in Thailand. After recovering from our colds we went on a walking tour of the city to see all the major sites- amazing... London is a very exciting place to be. We started our adventures in beautiful Thailand! Home of Sang Som (local Thai whiskey- very cheap and nasty), Singha (yummy Thai beer) and Swedes (usually topless!). We had an absolute ball!
