This will be our last blog......................thanks to everyone who communicated with us over the last 15 months. Sometimes, it was tough being away from home...we really appreciated any feedback we received. We had had an unreal (almost surreal year)!! Viva Italia!!..........We flew into Venice airport and caught a cab to Lido di Jeselo, on the Venetian Riviera, (the 'other side' of the lagoon from Venice). Weather was a bit cool - but with high hopes we set off by ferry to explore Venice - it was all that it's cracked up to be....unusual, old, crumbling -did the Doge's palace, Grand Canal, St Mark's Square (then the rain tumbled down!!) Off to Gatwick Airport at 2am (takes longer to get on the plane - than the flight!) Landed safely in Majorca, then off to our hotel at Santa Ponsa....had a great week, ate,met some nice people,ate, did the beaches,ate,went on a catarmaran,ate,swam,ate,did tourist stuff.....then off to meet our cruise ship (Ocean Village Two)....with great intentions - to STOP EATING!! After leaving Thornham Bridge - we headed off through quaint little fishing villages - often with no water!!! Down naroow hedge-lined roads to the most southern point of UK - then over to all the 'bell & whistles' hat is Lands End!
