Dublin Highlights (Edit)

It is quite easy to get to Dublin from the airport... a taxi will cost you about 30 euros, or a bus will cost you 10.

Flights to Dublin are a dime a dozen given that Ryan Air is an Irish based company....so make sure you book in advance to take advantage of ridiculously cheap fares.  It's not exactly a summer or winter place so it's suitable for a year round experience.

A stop in Dublin is never complete without heading over to the Jameson distillery or the Guinness factory.  The choice will probably be depending on which alcoholic beverage is your forte.  Or you could just do both.  Each place of interest in Dublin has a charge to take the tour, but with each comes a complimentary beverage!

If you go to the Guinness factory, be prepared to head up to the top of the factory where there's a 360 view of Dublin.  This isn't the real treat (the city's a bit gray and not as green as the country); the complimentary Guinness is.  They pour it right; and you can walk around, mingle, sip, and enjoy.

History-wise the Kilmainham Gaol is also a must see. First built in 1796 and was used for over 140 years and was home to many of Ireland’s political prisoners and was also where many of them were executed.  The tour is so interesting and not too expensive.
