It is a small country that has etched itself into the mind of millions for all the wrong reasons in World War II. For any visitor to Poland your trip would be incomplete if you didn't visit Auschwitz to see first hand the atrocities that Hitler committed. That is the grim history, that should never be forgotten, however the new Poland simply dazzles travellers from all walks of life. Within a few hours of Auschwitz is a city called Krakow (or Cracow) and it is magical little city that is worthy of atleast 3 to 4 days to explore and especially magical in winter as the winter markets come to life.

The region is safe enough to travel independently however the countries infrastructure (buses/trains) are still in need of modernisation. A number of discount airlines fly to and from all the major spots like Warsaw and Krakow. The prices of accommodation is more than affordable for any type of traveller and the same goes for food etc.
