Seville Highlights (Edit)

Seville is fantastic!  The orange trees, the beautiful cathedral, the winding streets that you can easily loose yourself in for hours... plan to stay a little longer than the guidebooks tell you.

Seville is home to flamenco, and it's everywhere.  There's plenty of touristy, expensive places to go and see some dancing, or you can go the local way and go to a bar on the weekend and watch the locals.  There's several along Calle Betis on the other side of the river.  A great place to watch wonderful flamenco is La Carboneria at Calle Levies 18.  Lots of passion! And it's free at 11pm.

Oasis Backpacker is an awesome place to stay.  I have been traveling for 9 months, and this is one of the best I've stayed in.  Friendly staff, a great tapas and flamenco 'tour' which is free, comfortable rooms, and all so close to everything.

Things to see and do... be a tourist at the cathedral and the Alcazar, look at Plaza Espanya with it's wonderful mosiacs of each of Spain's provinces, go to the market places, and eat lots of cheap tapas on Calle Mateos Gago - the one on the first corner after the fountain is the cheapest and the best!

It's also really easy to do day trips basing yourself at Seville.  The towns of Cordoba and Cadiz are worth a visit.  There's lots of buses, or if you want an easier faster trip, just take the train.  Enjoy!!
