If you're fond of stunning scenery and a laid back relaxing time, Cappadocia in Turkey fits the bill.  The region (yes Cappadocia is a region not a city) and was formed by erosion after volcanic activity and is quite unique. Stunnning gorges, underground cities and "fairy chimneys", as the formations are known, are quite beautiful.

If you are travelling to this destination other travellers have recommended a full day tour of the area with a localguide; a cultural evening at a local restaurant (to be entertained by traditional dancing, culminating with whirlingdervishes); a Turkish bath; and take a 2 hour hot air balloon flight as dawnbreaks.

The main reason why Cappadocia is so famous is because of the underground cites.Tour guides can take you through one of these cities with all theinformation you could possibly need. Take a jumper with you though,although the day will most likely be steaming hot it is really reallycold underground... apparently is best not to know everything otherwise it will spoil the surprise.
