Okay guys, I heard back from Videoegg about how to save your videos (and they recommended a program which you need to have a Computer engineering degree to know how to use!). I have done some testing and found one that does work well (but still takes a bit of effort).
Download the Flash version of your Video from your blogs
1. Navigate to the player video page (
example here)
2. Open the HTML source for the page in your browser (in Firefox, click View->Page Source; in IE, click View->Source)
3. Search (CTRL + F on your keyboard) for the word "selfserve300".
4. Following this, you’ll see a partial URL that resembles this: selfserve300.download.videoegg.com/gid388/cid1372/IH/E8/1177680166PpV97bTCyG03nSP6PCAT. Copy and paste this URL into your browser, adding “_high.flv” to the end. (so will look like
5. Refresh your browser (F5 on keyboard), which should cause a download dialog box to appear. Save the file to your drive.
6. The file that has saved is a Flash version of your video and cannot easily be played in this format, and needs to be converted.
Converting Flash Video to MPG
1. Go to
http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html and scroll to the very bottom of the page and click on the link "Start Downloading SUPER ©".
2. On next page click on the blue link 'Download and use'
3. On next page, scroll to very bottom again and click on blue link 'Download SUPER © setup file', then save the file to your PC.
4. Install the program (when you start it for the first time, it may warn you that your PC is not powerful enough to handle it, but ignore this and continue)
5. The interface is quite complex, but there are only a few things you need to look at:
- Select the Output (default is MP4, which I recommend you leave)
- Video scale size - change option to 'No Change'
- Just below halfway on the right side, you'll see red arrows - right click on this and select 'Output File Saving Management' to select the folder you want the outputted file to save to.
6. Now just drag and drop the files (you can do multiple, so I suggest you test with 1 first, then just drag all the files you want converted and do it at once to save you time) into the space on the program that says 'DROP A VALID MULTIMEDIA FILE HERE'
7. Press the 'Encode (Active Files)' button at the bottom to convert it.
8. Take a breath and and pat yourself on the back for making it this far!
Any questions let me know here...
Happy travels!
