Panama sounds nice and all these famous pictures making me decide this country for my first start. The caribiccoast at panamais not that pretty like where the pictures from. more rough and wildor full of trash and danger. San blas is beautiful but there are no surfers. The pacific coast is mostly unpretty because of the sea leaving in the midday and all these black sand which looks dirty and rough. The ones place i really could find surfers, good looking coasts and... read the full recommendationfederimsturm2009-04-29http://www.bugbitten.com/guide_blogs/destination/Panama/Bocas Del Toro/3307.htmlChitre recommendation by federimsturmhttp://www.bugbitten.com/guide_blogs/destination/Panama/Chitre/3243.htmli can recomend the small sweet city chitré in the interior of panama for everybody who wants to know real culture of panama and centro america. because there is so less tourism that the panamenan people are so happy and curious when they meet foreign people that they invite you to dinner at their house even if they are so poor that they not even have a bathroom. everybody is kindly and helpful here and in i can say i really felt in love in this little city because of the charm it has. so many hand make thing, so many tasty sweet food made by coco and honey, fruits. so many panama thing you not can find... read the full recommendationfederimsturm2009-04-06http://www.bugbitten.com/guide_blogs/destination/Panama/Chitre/3243.htmlPedasi recommendation by nancycadethttp://www.bugbitten.com/guide_blogs/destination/Panama/Pedasi/3134.htmlPedasi is a pretty and typical town in the Azuero peninsula, on the way to surf beaches like Venao, and Cambutal. Itls got some tourist amenities (though sadly lacking in restaurant variety). A cool friendly place to stay is Dims Hostal, a B& B on the main road--low prices, good staff, beds and atmosphere. One block away is Mano Surf and Juice--a place to rent boards or bikes, have fresh juices, yogurt or batidos, and use free... read the full recommendationnancycadet2009-01-19http://www.bugbitten.com/guide_blogs/destination/Panama/Pedasi/3134.htmlPanama City recommendation by karenstourhttp://www.bugbitten.com/guide_blogs/destination/Panama/Panama City/3063.htmlWhilst in Panama we stayed at a hostel called Panama by Luis. It is a very small hostel with only a capacity for 7 people. It has a 5 bed dorm and a double room. It is in the business district so very close to Uruguay and Argentina streets. These are both good areas for eating and partying. The hostel costs around $15 per night but there are kitchen facilities, tv with cable and internet. Luis is a very easy going, down to earth guy who makes you feel right at home in Panama. One of the challenges of onward travel from Panama... read the full recommendationkarenstour2008-11-14http://www.bugbitten.com/guide_blogs/destination/Panama/Panama City/3063.htmlBocas Del Toro recommendation by alawsonhttp://www.bugbitten.com/guide_blogs/destination/Panama/Bocas Del Toro/3010.htmlThe town of Bocas on the Island of Colon, in the Bocas del Toro archipeligo on the Caribbean coast of Panama just south of Costa Rica has a very laid back vibe. You can either fly directly there from Panama City in 1 hour (cost $70 plus taxes) or you can take any number of overland routes - from Panama City it's about 9 hours via the city of David (cost about $20). Mainly poulated by peoples of Afro/Caribbean descent, it's a great place to chill. There are lots of good restaurants and bars, and every night a different bar has a "Ladies Night" where girls drink for free typically between 9 and... read the full recommendationalawson2008-10-14http://www.bugbitten.com/guide_blogs/destination/Panama/Bocas Del Toro/3010.htmlBocas Del Toro recommendation by skipnzhttp://www.bugbitten.com/guide_blogs/destination/Panama/Bocas Del Toro/2410.htmlBocas Del Toro is on the North East coast of Panama only a hop skip and a jump from Costa Rica. We caught the over night bus from Panama City leaving at 8pm arriving at 4.30am $23usd. If you are doing this trip take the latter 9pm bus as there is nothing to do in the little town before you catch the ferry to Boccas. You catch a $1 taxi to the ferry then pay $3.50 for a 30min ferry to Boccas these start at like 6am. If you want a party hostel stay at Mondu Taitu, they have good party nights every night and a .50c beer happy hour everyday. These guys don't take bookings so... read the full recommendationskipnz2008-03-05http://www.bugbitten.com/guide_blogs/destination/Panama/Bocas Del Toro/2410.html
