Highlights of our 7 day cruise were swimming everyday in the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic Sea, wandering around medieval cities and meeting lots of cool young people. It is worth doing a bit of research into your destinations, as the Sail Croatia crew make no secret of the fact that they are just that - a crew - and not tour guides. I would recommend taking a travel guide along with you so you dont miss any of the sights. You tend to dock late in the afternoon and leave early in the morning so time to explore is a little limited. Sail Croatia gives you the option of choosing above deck or below deck accomodation, with below deck being a little cheaper. We stayed below deck and would do it again no problems. The toilet is a little small, and drunk people tramping on the roof can be a little irritating, but otherwise it was fine. You will find that you wont spend much time in your room apart from sleeping anyway. Most of the passengers on our cruise were Aussies in their mid-20s. There was a couple of other boats who stayed up all night partying, but most of the guys with us were in bed before midnight. A very basic breakfast (bread and spreads) is served at 8am, with a nice FOUR course (!!) lunch at about 1. We found that that the choice of dinners (for our budget)in the cities was a bit limited, so be prepared for lots of pizza!! What to pack: Sun protection, a book/magazines, towel, pegs, swimmers, cards, camera, inflatable toys (we took two inflatable rings which were very popular), shoes to swim in (there is LOTS of sea urchins on the ground near the shore). Make sure you go to 'Massimo' cocktail bar in Korcula! really cool bar on top of a fort. |
