Uncle Tans Wildlife Camp is a jungle adventure for nature lovers along the Kinabatangan River.
Nature highlights include: Original (as the locals call them, meaning Wild) Orang Utans, Probosics Monkeys and naughty Long Tail Macaques in the trees above, Hornbills and Eagles of all sizes flying overhead, Crocodiles patrolling the river, Tarantulas, Frogs and Scorpions lurking in the trees and in the right season, the very rare pigmy elephants. And of course, your enthusicastic and knowledgeable guides make all the difference as they truely love their work and respect the jungle and its creatures.
Pack: Sturdy shoes, a change of cloths in case of rain, rain coat, playing cards for the evening, mosquito repellant, sunscreen, flashlight.
Expect: Excellent food and dependable guides, basic but sufficient facilities, to get muddy.
Highlights: Original Orang Utans (mum and an infant, and another youth) living in the trees above the camp, Thousands of beady red crocodile eyes reflected in our flashlights along the river at night
