Hey Paco,

Well I tried and I tried but the travel companies weren't having a bean of it here. Apparently the way it works, even though Kathmandu is SWARMING with tour companies we are all combined into one group as soon as we cross the Nepalese border into Tibet. It's the Chinese company that make the money not the Nepalese. At least I got the tour price down though...from 0 USD to 0 USD. I know I would have regretted it had I taken a flight. Just need my Mum to take the hint now...Xmas and my birthday coming up....she's a bit slow off the mark bless her!

The number of tour companies here is astounding, all touting for business. I must have emailed 20 or so of them, but only a handful responded........and I did check Bugbitten search engine first too by the way!

Have been travelling with a couple of girls who have hitchhiked from Germany, they travel on 3 euros each a day. They were trying to convince me to fly with them but I'm sure by the time Tankini and luggage had a ticket it would have been near same price as tour anyway.

The highlight has been Afghanistan so far and the low India (I really didn't enjoy at all). Tibet will be amazing....China I know will be hard work. At least I have Laos to look forward too and Dana flying out from Perth to meet me just after Christmas. Then another 7 more months on the road to go!

Enjoying my new laptop but really struggling to find time to catch up on photos and blog. It's so hard to stay on top of it! I'm pretty determined though.

As always, very grateful for your support Paco! I have grown very attached these last few months. Special little guy in my life!

Thanks so much!

Hello Paco,

Thanks for your message!! I'm not fussed which state, I just want it to be a tour through beautiful remote surrounds preferable with young adults (actually just no annoying children. lol) I want it to be quite rough. Sleep in tents, move each day, cook by campfire etc. I imagine it would be an absolute challenge but an unreal experience! I found a few ranch ones but a lot of them look like you just stay at the ranch and do farm activities.
