Budget Tours Shoestring Turkey recommended by Deidre Bakke
In all our years of travel my friend and I have never had so much fun as we did with Fez. From Hayden our tour guide to the Fez crew, accomodation etc we give 10/10. The whole package was well put together. Highlights were our time at Kadirs tree houses awesome place,Saklikent Gorge,Fethiye,Kas and love kusadasi also can't say enough about our experience sleeping in a cave at cappadocia,Swimming in the torquise waters on the coastline was breath taking water so crystal clear. Not finished with Turkey yet. We have been all over the  West Coast now our hearts lie checking out the Eastern Part of Turkey and up through the centre once more can't wait and am sooo looking forward to Fez's hospitality once again. So if you are a young 50 something like myself you must experience Fez it's not JUST A TOUR it's A LIFE EXPERIENCE. YA GOTTA DO IT! Thanks Fez

The highlight for me was anzac cove, the group was a real mix with people form all over the world mostly australians ranging form early 20's to mid 50's but it was a really great mix , the tour cover a large area of turkey with a real mix free time and activities, i went a week after peak season so you could really haggle at the markets and still very busy was less crowed which help to make it a great trip i would highly recommened it

The Hop On Hop Off format provides the flexibility of travelling independently, with the security of group travel.  Fez buses depart every second day and you can stay overnight (for 1, 3, 5, 7...nights) at anywhere on the route you've purchased.  The bus includes some interesting stops in the itinerary, which you would miss on local transport, although it also includes too many stops at local handicrafts (once you've seen one carpet and ceramics demonstration, you've seen them all). As you're not paying the premium of a group tour, don't expect the same level of service that a dedicated tour guide may provide.  Virtually all of Fez's Hop On Hop Off guides only work one season in Turkey so the local insight they can provide is somewhat limited, especially if you are travelling at the start of the season in what may be their first time leading in Turkey.  They will book your accommodation (if it's on the Fez list) and optional activities for you - though it's sometimes cheaper to book activities yourself. Local buses in Turkey are of a good standard and fairly easy to get around on, so if you're a real independent traveller then local buses are probably still the way to go, though the Fez bus certainly is a great way to meet fellow travellers and reduces the time required to plan, book and navigate to transport and accommodation.  In the end, it's up to personal preferences, and it's great that Turkey has the options of group travel, hop on hop off and decent local transport.

We recently took a tour of Anzac Cove with Fez travel, it was a fantastic day out and I would reccommend this tour to anybody. We were a bit wary at first becuase our guide was an old Turkish guy but he turned out to be one of the best tour guides we have ever had!

Turkey was absolutely awesome!!!!!! We spent only 2 weeks here unfortunately and had a great time exploring as much as possible. Starting in Istanbul then heading to Gallipoli, Troy and Kusadasi using FEZ Travel. FEZ are definitely a must if heading this way. Kusadasi was beautiful and on the water, we then used local buses to head to Pamukkale then down to Fethiye were we hopped on a Blue Cruise for 4 days...... This included 3nights and 4 days of relaxing, swimming and eating. Next was Olympos were chilling is a must.... 2 days here wasn't enough... we actually extended and decided to fly from Antalya back to Istanbul rather than kill ourselves on a 14hr bus trip. Gozleme is a local pancake type thing which is cheap and cheerful...... all the food was tasty.... but the aftermath and the squirts were part of it..

On the night of the 23rd April it is best to stay in Sultanamet in you are doing Fez ANZAC as its an early 7am start to get on the buses just around the corner.  Make sure you pack a smaller bag on this morning that will last you until the night of the 25th as you are only allowed to take one small bag onto ANZAC cove as everything else will stay on the bus overnight.  Make sure you have a good sleeping bag to take which is no less that 5degrees.  Organisation was a bit of a mess trying to get everyone onto the buses but it worked out in the end.  Anzac is going to be a bit disorganised anyway as its only a one off event which the tour guides aren't really trained for as they are new leaders each year and this is the first trip.  They got us there in time to get a spot on the grass at ANZAC cove which is the main thing.  The Group age of this tour was between 23 - 30.  It was a great experience - especially sleeping overnight under the stars!!

The highlight of the trip was by far the four days we spent sailing from Marmaris to Fethiye. It was a fantastic way to relax and the crew totally looked after us with wonderful food and great spots  to stop. The Fez bus also took us all around certain parts of Turkey  Gallipoli visting; Kabatepe War Museum, Beach Cemetery (JohnSimson's Grave), Anzac Cove, Ari Burnu (First Anzac Landing Place),Lone Pine (Australian Memorial), Johnston's Jolly (walk in the AnzacTrenches), Turkish Memorial and Chunuk Bair (Main New ZealandMemorial). Then a short ferry ride within Turkey from the European sideof Turkey to the Asian Side of Turkey. Troy, where excavations haveunearthed 46 levels of occupation and nine cities or settlements(dating from 3000-2500 BC to AD 400) have been identified. Having seenmuch of Egypt Troy was disappointing but we we expecting bigger andbetter from our next historical sites.  A longer drive saw us visit theancient city of Pergamun within modern day Bergama - a sight high abovethe city. Arriving at the one of the best locations yet we checked into Stella's Hostel with a balcony view to die for and docked outside was Bill Gate's boat.  The next morning saw us depart for Ephesis were we saw some of the best ruins in Turkey. A must is the sailing - we had fantastic weather.
