How hostel operators can get started on bugbitten.com

We define a hostel operator to be a business that rents rooms/beds to adventurous travellers. We use the generic term Hostels but this term can be used to describe hotels, hostels, B&B's, apartments etc.

Step 1 If you currently work with Hostelbookers, your hostel should be already listed in our Travel Guide. Please contact us and we will set up your business profile. If you are not simply create a free business profile in our powerful, yet easy to use, Travel Platform.

Step 2 Add your listings. Each listing you add is automatically included in our Travel Platform and is featured in our Travel Guide, Facebook application and Recommendation Widgets. Naturally each listing can contain a link back to any page you choose on your web site (so travellers can deal direct with you). Listings are easily self managed from your business profile you created in step 1.

Step 3 Capture recommendations from your customers on your website using our free widget. We moderate all submissions on your behalf to ensure only positive and neutral recommendations are included. Recommendations influence the ranking of your listings in our Travel Guide.

Step 4 Display recommendations on your site using another free widget to ensure visitors to your site see what other travellers have said on an independent Travel Platform (not just what your creative marketing department has made up!) to convert more lookers into bookers.

Step 5 View statistics about each listings from your business profile you established in step 1.

Step 6 Pay a modest monthly fee at the end of your free trial to continue using all our applications in our Travel Platform. If not your listings will still be visible in our Facebook application and Recommendation Widgets but your listings will be removed from our Travel Guide (or add your accommodation into hostelbookers and tell us).

Please note: bugbitten.com allows travellers to research hostels and to make reservations instantly using hostelbookers reservation system. We are not associated with hostelbookers, but do receive a small commission from reservations to help us continue providing all members with a free service. Don't worry - unlike other reservation systems hostelbookers don't charge a booking fee!
