Grenada doesn't always get the Caribbean spotlight it deserves, and honestly that works in your favour. The reefs around St George's sit at depths ranging from about 5 metres on the shallower inshore sections to beyond 30 metres on the outer walls and drop-offs.

Visibility regularly reaches 20–25 metres, and while currents are generally mild and manageable, the southern sites can run a bit stronger on an outgoing tide, so it's worth asking your operator before you kit up.

The Bianca C is the headline act — a 180-metre Italian ocean liner that went down in 1961 and now rests at around 30–50 metres. It's genuinely impressive, one of the largest wrecks in the Caribbean, but you'll need Advanced Open Water at minimum and solid buoyancy control before your divemaster lets you anywhere near the deeper sections.

Away from the wreck, the reefs hold up reasonably well compared to much of the region, though localised bleaching events have left their mark on some shallower sections. Keep an eye out for frogfish tucked into sponges, seahorses clinging to sea fans, and the occasional reef shark patrolling the edges at dusk dives. Sea turtles are a near-daily sighting on many sites, and they're refreshingly unbothered by divers here.

Logistics are straightforward. Dive Grenada and Aquanauts are well-regarded operators running day boats out of St George's and Grand Anse. There are no liveaboard options based here — everything runs as day trips, which suits the compact geography perfectly. Snorkellers can access several shallow sites easily, though the best marine life rewards those who go deeper.

Go between January and May for calmer seas and the clearest visibility; Advanced Open Water opens up the best of it.
