What to expect

You'll meet Larry at the boat ramp, get kitted with a life jacket and fitted to the right board. The first 20–30 minutes covers basics: stance, rope hold, getting up smoothly. Once you're standing, you'll spend the remainder carving behind the boat, trying tricks if you're keen, or simply enjoying sustained runs across the lake's open stretches. Between sets, the boat idles near coves or scenic points where you can recover, sip a cold drink, and take in the shoreline architecture. Expect to get wet repeatedly—that's the deal—and to feel genuinely worked by the end of two hours.

Good to know

Bring a towel and a dry change of clothes. Not suitable if pregnant. Infants sit on an adult's lap. Lunch and dinner are separate costs. Public transport is nearby if needed.
