What to expect
You'll split time between two bases—a working pearl farm and an outback lodge—connected by helicopter transfers that double as sightseeing flights. Each day mixes transport with activity: mornings might be seaplane descents into tidal gorges or 4WD pushes into red earth, afternoons spent walking creek beds or learning pearl cultivation. Dinners are multi-course affairs at the lodges. Expect dust, heat, and early starts. The pace is full but not rushed; plenty of downtime between activities.
Good to know
Moderate fitness needed for creek walks and uneven terrain. Helicopter flights can be rough in wind; bring motion-sickness tablets if prone. Broome is the access point; local transport gets you to the start. Infants travel free on laps. Pack sunscreen and hat—shade is sparse in the outback.
