What to expect

You'll be picked up well before dawn and driven to the trailhead. The hike itself is steep but manageable, taking roughly two hours to summit. Expect rocky, uneven ground, some scrambling sections, and increasing altitude as you gain height. The real payoff comes watching daylight creep across the island from the volcanic rim, followed by a simple meal prepared using natural geothermal heat—boiled eggs, banana sandwiches, seasonal fruit and biscuits. Good to know
