About this tour
An eight-hour coastal voyage along Italy's Liguria shoreline, threading between Cinque Terre's pastel villages and the Gulf of Poets. You'll cruise past dramatic cliffside settlements, dive into turquoise coves unreachable by foot, and explore sea caves from the water. The boat carries snorkelling gear, local cheeses and wines, and enough space to simply sit still and watch the limestone formations rise from Mediterranean swells.
Highlights
- Swim in sheltered coves with visibility down to the seabed
- Navigate sea caves only accessible by water
- View Cinque Terre villages from their dramatic seaward side
- Snorkel with full equipment provided
- Sample regional cheeses, cured meats, and local wine aboard
- Stop at hidden beaches tucked between headlands
- Explore the Three Islands anchorages
What to expect
You'll board a well-maintained vessel and spend the morning cruising past the five stacked villages of Cinque Terre, watching their architecture cling to near-vertical terrain. The afternoon pivots toward quieter anchorages where you'll spend 45 minutes to an hour in the water with snorkelling kit, or simply floating above kelp forests. Crew will produce fresh provisions mid-journey—local cured meats, cheese, crusty bread—paired with regional white wine. The pace is unhurried; expect stretches of engine-off drifting. Weather permitting, you'll nose into at least two sea grottos where water echoes and light refracts in unexpected colours.
Good to know
Bring sunscreen, a light rash guard, and a towel. The boat rocks gently; those prone to motion sickness should take precautions beforehand. Snorkelling equipment is supplied but bring your own mask if you have a preferred fit. No gratuity is expected. Children and prams are welcome; alert the operator when booking.
