What to expect

Expect moderate physical exertion: you'll hike forest paths, wade into rivers, and spend hours on your feet near the animals. Mornings start early with feeding routines and observation sessions. Afternoons include village exploration and conservation talks with your hosts. Evenings are quieter—meals, rest, and time to absorb the day. Accommodation is basic but comfortable, built to fit the local setting. The pace is deliberate, not rushed. You're not watching from a distance; you're participating in daily animal care under supervision. Weather is warm and humid; trails can be muddy after rain.

Wear modest clothing covering knees and shoulders throughout. Bring sturdy walking shoes and sun protection. Moderate fitness required—not strenuous, but sustained activity. Not suitable if pregnant or with cardiovascular concerns. Vegetarian meals available with advance notice. Alcohol isn't included but can be purchased.
