Expect long riding days—three to five hours daily on twisting mountain roads with uneven surfaces. Your bike-guide knows the terrain and stops regularly at viewpoints and village entrances. Homestays offer basic comfort: simple rooms, squat toilets, cold-water showers. Meals centre on local fare cooked by your host families—rice, vegetables, occasional meat. You'll eat breakfast before departing, lunch at roadside stops, and dinner communally. Evenings wind down early; there's no electricity or wifi in many spots. Physical demands are real: eight-plus hours in the saddle daily, bumpy roads, altitude changes.
