What to expect

You'll be collected by private vehicle and taken to the helipad at Castiglione di Sicilia, positioned at the volcano's base. Once airborne, the helicopter climbs directly toward Etna's craters, giving you unobstructed views of the volcanic landscape and active crater formations. The 20-minute flight covers the mountain's summit area. If you've opted for the Taormina extension, you'll continue over the coastal town to see the ancient Greek theatre and surrounding clifftop geography. The flight operates in small groups—maximum five passengers—so seating is intimate.
