Your private guide leads the ascent on Mount Batur, where you'll eat breakfast whilst watching the sun rise over the surrounding peaks. - Hot breakfast at the top whilst day breaks
- Natural thermal pools for post-hike recovery
- Private vehicle pickup and drop-off from your hotel
- All entrance fees and meals covered
What to expect
Your driver collects you around 1 am; settle in for the drive whilst the road is quiet. The trek to the summit takes roughly three hours on a well-worn path, mostly steep but manageable underfoot. Your guide sets a steady pace suited to the group. You'll reach the top as the sky shifts from black to orange, with the valley floor still shrouded in mist. After breakfast and time to absorb the view, the descent is easier on the knees. By mid-morning you're soaking in the naturally heated pools—they're genuine geothermal springs, not chlorinated tourist tanks. Lunch follows before the drive home.
Good to know
Bring a torch, warm layers for the pre-dawn chill, and sturdy hiking shoes with grip. The hike demands moderate fitness; it's steep rather than long. Not suitable if pregnant or with spinal issues. Start hydrating the day before. Public transport alternatives exist nearby if you prefer not to book privately.
