What to expect
Days spent driving between coastal viewpoints on unpaved roads—expect dust and bumps. Most spots involve short walks to clifftop views; photos are best taken mid-morning when the light is overhead rather than harsh. Snorkelling is optional at Crystal Bay and requires basic swimming ability. The fastboat crossing to Nusa Penida takes around 30–40 minutes and can be choppy. Your driver will speak basic English or Indonesian and know the standard stops well. Accommodation is simple but clean, allowing you to rest before the return journey.
Good to know
Bring sun protection, water shoes for rocky beaches, and a light jacket for the boat. The photo tickets at Tree House and Paluang Cliff are separate and paid on-site. Not suitable if pregnant, have spinal issues, or cardiovascular concerns. Dinner is your own arrangement. Infants must sit on a lap during travel.
