Earn your Open Water certification over three days with SSI instructors at Koh Lipe's five-star dive resort. You'll complete online theory before hitting the water around the island's reefs, learning fundamental skills in controlled conditions then on actual dives. By day three, you'll be certified to dive independently to 18 metres anywhere in the world. Lunch and digital logbook included.

What to expect
The course splits between classroom and water. You'll work through online modules at your own pace beforehand, covering physics, physiology, and safety protocols. Your instructor walks you through each concept before you practise in shallow water—equalising pressure, managing buoyancy, clearing a flooded mask. Once confident, you move to open water dives around Koh Lipe where reefs and marine life become your classroom. Each dive builds on the last. Expect to be in the water for several hours daily.
Good to know
Not suitable if you have spinal injuries, are pregnant, have poor heart health, or asthma. All fitness levels welcome otherwise. National park entry fee paid separately. Bring your own wetsuit or rent locally. Seasickness medication recommended if prone.
