Open Water Diver Course in Lanzarote

About this tour

Earn your PADI Open Water certification over three days in Lanzarote's sheltered Puerto del Carmen waters. You'll complete self-study theory beforehand, then spend the course moving from confined shallow dives to four open ocean sessions with an experienced instructor. Small groups keep things manageable, equipment and insurance included. Most people can do this—you just need to be reasonably comfortable in water and medically cleared.

Highlights

  • Four open water dives plus confined water training
  • Small groups with certified PADI instructor
  • All diving equipment and DAN insurance provided
  • Refreshments and snacks during course days
  • Suitable from age 10 upwards

What to expect

Before you arrive, you'll work through 6–8 hours of PADI eLearning (theory). On day one at Playa Chica, you'll sort paperwork, get fitted with gear, and have an instructor briefing. The first dives happen in shallow water where you'll practise essential skills—clearing your mask, equalising, controlled breathing—until you're genuinely relaxed. Over the next two days, you'll alternate between confined sessions and genuine open water dives, gradually building confidence and technique. Weather can occasionally force reschedules, but the operator offers alternative dates or full refunds if that happens.

Good to know

Book eLearning access in advance (discounted through the operator at €100). Bring your own towel and swimwear. Don't fly for 12–18 hours after your final dive. You'll need medical clearance (asthma, heart conditions and serious illnesses disqualify you). Pregnant travellers should skip this.
