What to expect

You'll be fitted with a harness and life jacket at the beach, then board a speedboat with the parasailing rig. The boat accelerates smoothly; you'll lift off the water gradually as the parachute catches air. The ascent takes a minute or two. From your peak height you'll see the full sweep of Polignano's limestone face, turquoise shallows, and terraced villages inland. The sensation is serene rather than adrenaline-spiking—wind noise, buoyancy, stillness. The descent mirrors the launch. Total time in air is roughly 15 minutes.
