What to expect

You'll be collected from your hotel in the small hours and driven to the trailhead. The climb takes roughly two hours up a dark, rocky path—your torch helps pick out loose stones and root systems. The route is steep but straightforward, and guides set a steady pace suited to the group. Once light appears on the horizon, the summit rush is worth every step. Breakfast (simple fare) tastes better at altitude. On the way down, you'll detour through terraced rice fields where the light and geometry make for strong photographs. Back in the car by mid-morning, you'll return to your hotel.
