Spend half an hour being towed across Tortoreto's waters on a wakeboard, with two experienced guides managing the motorboat and coaching you through the basics. You'll wear full safety gear and learn proper technique from the outset. Bring your own cooler of food and drinks aboard if you fancy—the crew won't mind. This is a straightforward introduction to the sport, best suited to those with decent fitness and a bit of nerve.

What to expect

You'll arrive at the launch point and get fitted into a wetsuit and life jacket. The instructors will brief you on stance, grip, and what to expect when the boat accelerates. Once you're in the water holding the handle, the motorboat will gradually build speed until you're up and riding. It's physically demanding—your arms and core take most of the load—but the guides will adjust the pace to match your confidence. Expect to fall in a few times; that's normal and part of learning.

Good to know

Public transport serves the area. You must have moderate fitness; spinal injuries, pregnancy, and poor cardiovascular health are contraindications. Wear sun protection and bring a change of clothes. Arrive 15 minutes early for kit checks.
