About this tour
Spend a day snorkelling off Bali's northeast coast, hitting two premier sites: the USAT Liberty, a sunken cargo ship now home to schools of trevally and grouper, and surrounding reef systems where hard corals and anemones create a thriving ecosystem. Experienced guides lead small groups through the underwater landscape, pointing out resident species and navigating currents. You'll return to the boat between dives for Indonesian lunch and refreshments.
Highlights
- USAT Liberty wreck exploration with prolific fish populations
- Healthy coral gardens teeming with reef fish and invertebrates
- Expert local guides who know seasonal patterns and wildlife behaviour
- Shared boat with other snorkellers, small-group format
- Included nasi goreng and mie goreng lunch
- Equipment provided; snorkel from calm entry points
What to expect
You'll meet at the dive shop in Amed or Tulamben in the early morning, collect your mask and fins, and board a shared boat with other snorkellers. The Liberty wreck sits in 5–12 metres of water; expect to spend around 40 minutes exploring it, with the guide pointing out groupers, snappers, and occasionally larger pelagics. Between dives, you'll surface for water and snacks. The second site focuses on shallow reef; currents vary by season, so buoyancy control matters. Lunch happens onboard mid-day. The whole outing runs approximately six to seven hours.
Good to know
Moderate fitness required; poor cardiovascular health or pregnancy not advisable. Bring sun protection and a rash guard. Public transport reaches both towns. Plan to be submerged in two sessions totalling roughly 90 minutes; not suitable for non-swimmers or those uncomfortable in deeper water.
