About this tour
Push beyond your initial open-water certification with SSI's deep diving specialty over two days in Tenerife. You'll learn pressure management, nitrogen narcosis awareness, and safe descent protocols whilst exploring deeper reef systems off the Spanish coast. Transport from Golf del Sur, snacks and drinks included. This course opens access to sites most recreational divers never see.
Highlights
- Master nitrogen narcosis recognition and response
- Learn equalization techniques for greater depths
- Explore deeper reef structures and marine life
- Two-day hands-on training with qualified instructors
- Hotel pickup and air-conditioned transport provided
- Progress from standard recreational depth limits
What to expect
Expect classroom theory covering decompression limits, equipment considerations, and physiological effects at depth. You'll then conduct confined-water drills before advancing to open-water dives where you'll practice emergency procedures and navigation in deeper conditions. The instructors emphasise controlled progression—each dive builds confidence rather than rushing. You'll feel pressure changes acutely and notice how darkness deepens, which takes mental adjustment. Bring a notebook; the physics matters here.
Good to know
Don't fly or dive within 24 hours of flying. Complete the health questionnaire honestly—asthma, heart conditions and certain medications disqualify you. Valid passport required. Souvenir photos cost extra. Wheelchair accessible throughout. All fitness levels welcome, though comfort with confined spaces underwater helps.
