What to expect

Expect a physically demanding day. You'll move between villages via a combination of public boat services (weather permitting, April through late October), regional trains, and hiking sections where paths narrow and occasionally turn steep. Ground conditions range from solid stone to loose earth and slippery rocks. Your driver stays with the group through each transition—boats, trails, vehicles—offering observations on local history and architecture as you move. Pisa's tower visit breaks the coastal portion. Bring water (supplied) and lunch money, as meals aren't included. Swimming is possible if you pack a towel and suit.

Good to know

Wear proper hiking boots with grip. Cinque Terre national park entry isn't included—you'll pay separately if required. Coastal boat schedules depend on weather and don't run November–March. Not suitable for those with heart conditions or limited fitness. Children under two sit on laps. The driver provides context but cannot guide museum interiors or churches professionally.
