What to expect
You'll start with a brief introduction to the tools and technique, then get your hands wet—literally. The instructor will guide you through the pulp-pulling process, showing you how to achieve even thickness and proper sheet formation. The physical work is gentle and repetitive; most people find it meditative rather than taxing. Once your sheet is shaped, it goes into a press to remove excess water. You'll leave with damp paper that continues to cure at home, developing its final character over a few days.
Good to know
Wear clothes you don't mind getting damp. The studio is compact and accessible by train. If you're travelling with a pram or small child, the space can accommodate them. Allow a few extra days after the workshop for your paper to fully dry and stabilise at home.
