What to expect
Arrive in an apron and select your lunch box. Your instructor walks you through making dashi—the flavour foundation for Japanese cooking. You'll then prepare each component: frying, grilling and simmering proteins and vegetables, marinating where needed. The rice-ball section involves hands-on practice with plastic moulds to get the shape right. Once all dishes are ready, you'll arrange them thoughtfully in your box with fresh vegetables, guided on balance and visual appeal. The experience wraps with a shared meal; you'll use chopsticks, say 'itadakimasu', and taste your effort.
